Biosketch:

Dr. Caitlin Peterson received her medical degree from Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. She then completed her Pediatric residency training at Indiana University Riley Children’s Hospital and fellowship training in Pediatric Nephrology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension.

Dr. Peterson’s research interests have included examining cost effectiveness of initial imaging of the genitourinary tract after an initial urinary tract infection in young children. Her abstract regarding these data was received as a platform presentation at the 2018 Pediatric Academic Society Conference in Toronto, Canada. Additional interests focus around quality improvement of successful transition from pediatric/adolescent care to adult care settings for young patients with chronic kidney disease including renal transplantation. Her quality improvement project on medication education in adolescent kidney transplant patients won best project through the Wolff Center at UPMC Quality Education Series. Dr. Peterson is currently interested in developing a multidisciplinary and comprehensive transition program for the adolescent kidney transplant patients. Additional interests include quality improvement of blood pressure monitoring in pediatrics and adolescents.
