WIC Assistance

A public health nutrition program administered by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service that provides nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding support and health care referrals for income-eligible pregnant or postpartum women, infants and children up to age five. Foster parents, grandparents, guardians and single fathers who have custody of their children may also be eligible to receive food assistance for children up to age five if they meet income guidelines. WIC provides specific foods to supplement the dietary needs of participants to ensure good health and development. (AIRS NL-6000.9500 target="_blank")

Services Provided: Services for children and adults with developmental disabilities from birth to death including Early Intervention for children age 0-3, Family education and Support for the families and individuals with disabilities, Children’s Waiver Services and Autism Waiver services, and a Developmental Evaluation Clinic. They also offer several services targeted more at adults with disabilities including Community Support and Supported Living to support individuals with disabilities living in a family home or independent, PASARR (for people with disabilities in nursing homes) , and Sky Reach Youth Home (residential for people with severe disabilities). They offer child care funding, training and advocacy. They have a Family Preservation program to help rebuild families who have had their children placed into foster care.

Serving the following counties in South Eastern Montana: Carter, Custer, Dawson, Fallon, Garfield, Powder River, Prairie, Rosebud, Treasure and Wibaux.

Eligibility: They accept most insurance plans and provide clinic services to anyone in need, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.  As a federally funded Community Health Center, RiverStone Health Clinics offer a sliding fee scale that allows them to adjust charges for healthcare services based on income and family size. In addition, they accept payment from Medicare, Medicaid, Healthy Montana Kids and private health insurance plans. If you are uninsured, they can help find health insurance coverage that fits your needs and your budget.
Services Provided: They provide care for the whole family, from pre-natal care, caring for infants and children to aging adults. We work with you in screening, preventing and managing chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure or heart disease.  They can also help you get dental care or behavioral health counseling.
