Funding Your Child's Special Needs

Families can face many financial challenges that can be overwhelming as they support and care for their child with special needs. Some expenses come from not having affordable access to health insurance and others can come from the out-of-pocket costs such as the co-payments, therapies, specialized equipment, respite, adaptations to the home, just to name a few. There are many financial assistance programs available throughout the community, state and nation. These programs each have their own eligibility requirements that could be based on income, diagnosis, age, location or other specific requirements.
This section of the Medical Home Portal has information that can help identify and explain financial assistance resources for the care of children with special needs and their families.
