Services Provided: Who We Are

LDS Family Services is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As such, we follow Church welfare principles.

Current Services Offered by LDS Family Services:

LDS Family Services provides consultation and referral services to prospective adoptive parents who are living in the United States and who are referred by their bishop or branch president. A consultation can help you find legal help, home study services, and placement services.

The agency also maintains a website of prospective adoptive couples that meet the eligibility criteria. This website is primarily used by LDS Family Services staff in working with single expectant parents who are making an adoption plan for their child and are searching for an LDS adoptive couple. While the numbers of single expectant parents visiting this site fluctuates, it is generally a small number.

Community Services

Adoptive couples may seek the following services from community resources:
•Pre-adoption education
•Adoption home study
•Placement services
•Post-placement services
•Legal services

If needed, LDS Family Services can consult with you to find a community service provider in your area

LDS Family Services provides assistance with pre-marital counseling, adoption or single parenting, with a bishop's referral. LDS Family Services can also refer you to resources in the community.
