Pharmaceutical companies or pharmacies that make brand name or generic prescription drugs available to patients who are uninsured or underinsured or, for other reasons, cannot afford to pay the market price. Also included are organizations that help qualifying patients complete and file paperwork for submission to drug manufacturers to request such medication or which maintain lists of these types of programs for referral purposes. Eligibility: Residents of Montana; The foundation expects to identify needs and monitor progress in the following manner: An application, adequate documentation by the attending physician confirming the need for specialized attention, communication from the medical facility from which the child will be treated, receipts for expenses that meet the support requirements and the mission of the fund
Services Provided: Financial support to families in need of a higher level of medical care for their child. The funds benefits include but are not limited to the following:
- Travel expenses (motel, food, gasoline, and emergency travel (i.e. airfare)
- Approved cancer-treating prescriptions not covered by health insurance
- Reimbursement for CAT scans, ultrasounds, bone scans, or MRIs that fall outside of the definition of inpatient cancer treatment which is not covered under many health insurance policies.

The finances are awarded on a three tier system:
Tier I: financial aid to families with children currently in treatment and continuing cancer treatment
Tier II: assistance for children with major medical needs who do not have cancer
Tier III: financial support for children with special needs who are not requiring major medical care

Services Provided: RiverStone Health provides medication assistance for low-income or uninsured patients who cannot afford their medications. The assistance comes through applications to pharmaceutical companies for free or reduced-cost prescription medications. The application process may take 4 to 6 weeks and approval is determined by the individual pharmaceutical companies. This is not an immediate or emergency assistance service.

Before the application process can begin, you must have a current, 90-day prescription and need to bring income verification documents with you. If assistance is approved, a three-month supply of medication can be provided for a $5 processing fee for each medication. No appointment is needed; we are open on a walk-in basis. Check-in at RiverStone Health Pharmacy.
